Looking to treat the ‘old man’ this Father’s Day? Well there’s nothing quite like York for a good old bit of Yorkshire fodder and ale!

Using your Crafty Card can help provide some inspiration if you fancy treating him at some of the best pubs or restaurants in York.

Here’s just a few of our recommendations…

Valhalla – 4 Patrick Pool

This is a great place to pop in to and pick up a pint, pre-lunch or dinner. With old school rock music pumping on the stereo and a really warm atmosphere, York’s only viking themed bar is a guaranteed winner. Serving a variety of beer on keg and cask there’s a nice eclectic choice to suit all tastes. Our favourite is Odins Judgement by Yorkshire Heart Brewery, careful though at 6% ABV it’ll be sure to put a smile on your face!

Wagyu Bar & Grill – 75 Low Petergate
If your dad likes steak this is THE place to come! Serving some of the best tasting beef around Wagyu Bar & Grill will have him salivating in anticipation! Our recommendation is of course the 14 oz Chateaubriand Steak for two which comes with 2 Sides and 2 Sauces. At £70 it’s the priciest option on the menu but saving £7 plus another 10% on drinks with your Crafty Card means you can enjoy the best for less. Book ahead on 01904 232 262.

1331 – 9-13 Grape Lane
If a traditional Sunday roast is more your dad’s thing checkout 1331’s, and if the sun is shining try and get a seat outside in their walled beer garden. While you wait for your food take Dad to shoot some pool and take the chance to have a good old catch up. Book ahead on 01904 661 130.

The Bohemian Bar – Spark York, 17-21 Picadilly
Pre or post dining head to this place to show Dad one of the smallest yet most beautiful bars in York. The Bohemian Bar serves craft drinks over a converted 1930’s Welmar cast iron piano – what’s not to like about that! Sit back, relax and enjoy your beverages as you take a seat outside using one of their drums as a table – genius.
