Gulp and Graze is a cafe / coffee shop on Micklegate and is the creation of GB pro long-distance runner Matty Hynes.
As you might expect Matty’s running provides a big influence on the menu and the type of food and drink you can expect to be served here.
The focus is on fresh and natural.
This place is an ideal stop for breakfast, brunch and / or lunch, whether you opt to eat in or take away.
Gulp & Graze also takes inspiration from similar places that Matty’s visited whilst ‘on the run’ in cities such as Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Chicago.
Here though they use fantastic local to York and Yorkshire produce to serve customers a delicious menu.
They source their coffee from Rountons in North Yorkshire, cheese from Michael Lee Fine Cheeses, use David Wilson butchers for their meat, Simon Baynes for their fruit and vegetables and get their cakes from ShutiShuti which is a micro patisserie right next-door!
