Starting out on Gillygate, heading down High Petergate and finishing on Goodramgate, this pub crawl will take you along the city wall on a tour of York’s historic city centre.

1. Bistro Guy – 40 Gillygate
Found in the middle of Gillygate, Bistro Guy serves delicious breakfasts, lunches, and cakes by day and wood-fired pizzas and craft beers each weekend. What better way to start the evening?
2. The Gillygate – 48 Gillygate
Just across the road is The Gillygate, a 19th Century pub offering four rooms: a main bar, an old-fashioned tap room, a front room and a whisky snug, so explore and find your favourite spot in this historic building.
3. Eagle & Child – 9 High Petergate
Head down Gillygate and turn left onto High Petergate and you will find yourself outside the Eagle & Child, another historic building dating all the way back to 1640, the pub has spaces across 3 floors suitable for groups of any size. As part of the Leeds Brewery family of pubs you’re sure to find a great range of beers here.
4. 1331 – 9 Grape Lane
Continue down to Low Petergate and take a right into Grape Lane to be welcomed into Thirteen Thirty One. Enjoy a range of great beers, wines, cocktails & quality home cooked food, as well as some friendly competition on the pool tables!

5. Mr P’s Curious Tavern – 71 Low Petergate
Turning right back onto Low Petergate you will come across Mr P’s Curious Tavern, where you can enjoy sharing platters and small plates to suit your appetite and curiosity, along with a drink or two in a supposedly haunted 17th Century building.
6. The Habit – 40 Goodramgate
Take a left at the end of Low Petergate and it’s just a short walk up Goodramgate to The Habit, a compact bar spread over two floors. The Habit has a surprising selection of drinks and a rooftop terrace with unique views of the Minster!
