1. Mason’s Arms – 6 Fishergate
Starting out in the Mason’s Arms, this traditional British pub built in Tudor style has genuine gothic features from the castle and a secluded terrace overlooking the River Foss.
2. BNHO Wine Bar – 17-21 Piccadilly
Next up it’s time to enjoy some delicious craft wine in a unique and informal box bar setting. The BNHO Wine Bar can be found at Spark: York, a quick walk down Piccadilly from the Mason’s Arms, and also serves a selection of beers and ciders.
3. 4swings – 17-21 Piccadilly
Ready for something a little different? Also at Spark: York, 4swings serves inventive and original cocktails, cleverly incorporating ingredients such as bacon, Nutella or beetroot, with surprising and delicious results.
4. Walmgate Ale House – 25 Walmgate
Heading down Dennis Street and left onto Walmgate, the Ale House is located in a 17th Century listed building, and offers a range of Yorkshire ales, lagers and cider as well as an extensive wine list.
The Walmgate Ale House is a great stop to grab some delicious food; The Chopping Block is situated within the pub, and offers a 10% discount on food as well as drink to Craft Savvy members!
5. Duke of York – Kings Square
Taking a quick walk down Fossgate and onto Colliergate, you’ll find this historical and charm-packed pub at the top of the Shambles. The Duke of York prides itself on its range of quality beer and locally sourced food.
6. The Whippet Inn – 15 North Street
Head down to Bridge Street, cross the River Ouse and turn right into North Street to enjoy some real ales and lagers from across the UK at The Whippet Inn, which also boasts a superb wine list and a delicious rum & whiskey section.
7. Micklegate Social – 148 Micklegate
And finally, it’s just a brief walk down Micklegate to the Micklegate Social, a great bar with a large basement for events, and a wide selection of craft beers!
